Thank you for purchasing eCornell CourseNotes. The redemption code will become available to you on your my eCornell page once your course begins.
Download and Installation Instructions
In order to view your eCornell CourseNotes, you must download the VitalSource Bookshelf. The VitalSource Bookshelf is a free application designed to allow you to read, annotate, and print your eCornell CourseNotes.
You will only need to install the VitalSource Bookshelf once.
Adding your eCornell CourseNotes to VitalSource Bookshelf
- Launch the program from the VitalSource shortcut within your Start Menu >> All Programs (windows) or your Applications folder (Mac), OR by double clicking the icon on your desktop.
- Go to “Help” menu at top of the window
- Click “Redeem Code”
- If you are not already logged in, it will now prompt you to do so. Use the e-mail address and password set up during VS Bookshelf registration process (see installation instructions).
- Enter your redemption code as found in the dialog (below) near your course at http://my.ecornell.com
- Click “Redeem Code”
Windows / PC Installation Instructions
- Download the VitalSource client at:
- http://vitalsource.com/software/bookshelf/downloads
- Click the Windows button.
- Save the setup.exe file to your desktop.
- Double click on setup.exe, click “Run” if a security dialog pops up.
- Choose Setup Language
- Select English
- Click “OK”
- VitalSource requires Microsoft.NET framework to be installed in order to run. If your machine prompts it, follow the directions and install.
- “Welcome to the InstallShield Wizard for VitalSource Bookshelf”
- click “Next”
- License Agreement
- Click “I accept the terms in the license agreement”
- Click “Next”
- Destination Folder
- Click “next”
- Ready to Install the Program
- Click “Install”
- InstallShield Wizard Completed
- Click “Finish”
- Launch the program from the Start Menu >> All Programs >> VitalSourceBookshelf (orange icon)
- End User License Agreement (If first time launching program)
- Click “Accept”
- Welcome to VitalSource Bookshelf
- Click “Register”
- Register for an account with VitalSource (necessary)
- If you register with the same e-mail address and password as your eCornell account, it will be easier for our HelpDesk to troubleshoot with you if you encounter any errors.
- Go to “Help” menu at top of the window
- Click “Redeem Code”
- Enter your redemption code as found in the dialog (below) near your course at http://my.ecornell.com
- Download the VitalSource client at:
- http://vitalsource.com/software/bookshelf/downloads
- Click the Macintosh button.
- Save the VitalSource_Bookshelf_5.2.1.dmg to your desktop or downloads folder.
- To access Downloads folder, go to Macintosh HD >> Users >> your account >> Downloads
- Double click on VitalSource_Bookshelf_5.2.1.dmg.
- A new folder will open.
- Within this folder, drag the orange VitalSource Icon onto the Applications folder.
- Open VitalSource Bookshelf (orange icon) from within Applications folder.
- End User License Agreement
- Click “Accept”
- Welcome to VitalSource Bookshelf
- Click “Register”
- Register for an account with VitalSource (necessary)
- If you register with the same username and password as your eCornell account, it will be easier for our HelpDesk to troubleshoot with you if you encounter any errors.
- Go to “Help” menu at top of the window
- Click “Redeem Code”
- Enter your redemption code as found in the dialog (below) near your course at http://my.ecornell.com
