The Work Environment
We are located in vibrant and beautiful Ithaca, NY with direct access to faculty at Cornell University. We work in a spacious office which is designed to support an open and collaborative team environment. The office is located within a newly renovated former factory, is only minutes to Cornell and downtown Ithaca , and has breathtaking views of Cayuga Lake. We also have a number of corporate account directors located across the United States.

Web Applications Developer

We are looking for software engineers to craft new tools and applications that extend our engaging online learning system. You will have experience creating and implementing interactive web applications using Java, JSP and AJAX. You will have experience with creating new code as well as customizing open and/or developer source applications to meet the needs of our environment. Our open and collaborative culture means you will have many opportunities to apply your excellent problem solving, critical thinking, oral and written communication skills in cross-functional teams. You will bring a creative vision, as well as interest in and solid grasp of emerging Internet technologies and trends. Qualifications:

Bachelors degree with 2-5 years experience designing and developing web-based applications.

Proficiency with Java v1.5/1.6, JSP, Javascript, HTML and XML/XSLT, AJAX, CSS. Experience using JDBC and SQL with relational databases. Proficiency with Mac OS X and/or Linux platforms. Familiarity with application frameworks (Struts, JSF, etc.). Familiarity with version control systems, Subversion in particular. Knowledge of Python, Perl, or Macromedia Flash a plus.

Understanding of application design and experience with writing and documenting code to application requirements. Experience with building dynamic web interfaces and developing web applications for a hosted, on-demand environment.
