David B. Lipsky, Ph.D. is a Professor of Industrial and Labor Relations and Director of the Cornell/PERC Institute on Conflict Resolution for the School of Industrial and Labor Relations, Cornell University. Dr. Lipsky received his B.S. in 1961 from the ILR School and his Ph.D. in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1967. He has been a member of the Cornell faculty since 1969, serving as dean of the ILR School from 1988 to 1997.
Dr. Lipsky's research and teaching are primarily focused on negotiation, conflict resolution, and collective bargaining. His most recent publications include Emerging Systems for Managing Workplace Conflict (Jossey-Bass, 2003), written with Ron Seeber and Richard Fincher, and numerous contributions on the subject of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) in publications such as ADR Report and Metropolitan Corporate Counsel.
