Robert Chase graduated from Cornell University with degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration. Professor Chase has been associated with the School of Hotel Administration since 1962. His course responsibilities have involved property management, information systems, accounting, finance, and business strategy. In addition to teaching undergraduates, he has been active in the School's summer session, the Professional Development Program. This program serves the needs of industry practitioners from around the world in multiple endeavors.
Professor Chase has consulted with and/or educated managers at AT&T, IBM, ITT, Prudential Insurance, NCR, American Express, Inter-Continental Hotels, Westin Hotels and Resorts, Hilton International, Dusit Thani Hotels, Hyatt, and Holiday Inns. In the food service sector, Chase has conducted programs for the General Mills Restaurant Group, McDonalds, Dunkin' Donuts, Howard Johnson, Marriott, Long John Silver's, The S&A Restaurant Group, and PepsiCo Restaurants International.
Professor Chase holds appointments as External Examiner for Temasek Polytechnic in Singapore and as Advisory Board Chairman for Distance Learning, The International Hotel Management School, Leura, Australia.
