Dr. Robert K. Prescott, SPHR, is graduate faculty in human resource management at the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, where he teaches graduate-level courses in both the M.B.A. and M.H.R. programs.
Formerly, he was the executive director of management and executive education at Rollins College; director of the Management Development Institute and adjunct faculty at Eckerd College; director of executive education and corporate services and instructor at Pennsylvania State University; and director of human resources for BellSouth Communications, Inc. in Birmingham, Alabama.
Dr. Prescott's teaching expertise and research focus on human resource management, organization development, organization behavior, human resource development, training and development, and leadership. He has consulted with organizations representing a wide range of industries, including AIG, ARAMARK, Cigna, Deloitte & Touche, Estee Lauder, the Internal Revenue Service, Lockheed Martin EIS, Olive Garden Restaurants, Towers Perrin, Unisys, Walt Disney World, and the U.S. Army.
Dr. Prescott serves on the board of HRPS and recently cochaired the National Conference for the Human Resource Planning Society (HRPS). He also serves on the Cornell University ILR Board of Advisors, the board of directors for the Conference on Management and Executive Development (CMED), and the board of directors for Correct Craft, Inc. He is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD). Dr. Prescott is a life-certified senior professional in human resources (SPHR) and coauthor of The Strategic Human Resource Leader: How to Prepare Your Organization for the Six Key Trends Shaping the Future (Davies-Black, 1998).
Dr. Prescott holds a B.S. in Marketing from the University of Alabama and a Ph.D. in Workforce Education and Development from Pennsylvania State University.
