Sarosh Kuruvilla, Ph.D. is Professor of Collective Bargaining, Comparative Industrial Relations and Asian Studies for the School of Industrial and Labor Relations, Cornell University. He earned his Doctorate in Business Administration from the University of Iowa in 1989. Prior to joining Cornell, he served as research director for ILO-JAPAN Research project on the Impact of Globalization on Employment Relations in Asia. He also spent five years as an industrial relations manager for a British multinational with factories in several parts of the world. Dr. Kuruvilla is a visiting professor for the Aarhus Business School, Denmark, and the University of the Philippines, Quezon City, Philippines, and has served as a Research Consultant to SACO Trade Union Federation (Sweden); Industrial Relations Manager for Madura Coats Ltd. (India); Guest Scholar, Swedish Center for Working Life: and consultant to the ILO, the World Bank, and Asian governments.
Dr. Kuruvilla is one of the world's leading experts on comparative industrial relations for developing countries. His research interests focus broadly on the linkages between industrial relations policies and practices, national human resources policies and practices, and economic development policies. Professor Kuruvilla is the author of several books and technical reports, and approximately 50 journal articles.
