Executive Education

School of Hotel Administration

New technologies are driving change in the hospitality industry and revolutionizing the way restaurants, resorts, hotel chains, airlines, and cruise lines do business. Since 1922, the School of Hotel Administration (SHA) has been a central leader in the development of this industry--an industry that has experienced vast growth and now ranks as the world's largest by revenue and number of people employed. SHA has the world's most sought-after group of thought leaders focused on hospitality service-oriented management. Many large, global hospitality companies are actively involved with the faculty for executive education and training, as well as for research and consulting. As a result, the Hotel School is widely regarded as the hospitality industry's "think tank."

With the Cornell Hotel School, eCornell develops programs that emphasize the knowledge and analytical skills needed for efficient and effective management of worldwide hospitality investments. We understand the importance of hospitality as an economic sector, and our courses impart the techniques needed to effectively manage, market, and develop destinations worldwide.

For the past three years new graduate students in the Hotel School’s Master of Management in Hospitality (MMH) Program have completed six eCornell courses as a prerequisite to their matriculation into the one-year program. In the online courses they learn and/or review the basic concepts of finance, financial statements, and statistics. They also meet each other online and build relationships prior to coming to campus which facilitates their transition into a highly interactive curriculum that emphasizes team work.
