eCornell and the Ken Blanchard Companies Partner to Address Growing Need for New Leaders

ITHACA, NY and ESCONDIDO, CA, November 1, 2005 — eCornell and the Ken Blanchard Companies announced today a partnership that will deliver a high-performance leadership development solution for organizations. It will pioneer the use of personal and group coaching to augment proven online leadership development courses. The partnership is designed to enable individuals and organizations to bridge the learning-doing gap by providing coaching support to sustain and apply learning to get results.

The increased focus on succession planning and the need to develop high-potential talent internally is causing most organizations to recognize the need for a scalable and sustainable solution that includes an effective training and development component.

The Ken Blanchard Companies will provide professional coaching to support individuals in reinforcing their learning experience by practicing real-life scenarios, overcoming barriers, and more. This exciting and groundbreaking offering is made possible through a systematic approach that integrates the best of online training and coaching.

Participants in eCornell online leadership programs will be able to take advantage of coaching services. All Ken Blanchard Companies coaches have extensive experience coaching executives and are trained at supporting learning programs in order  to help maximize the potential for application and sustainability.

"Our partnership with the Ken Blanchard Companies allows us to provide our clients with an integrated, personalized option for building the capability of their leadership teams. It is a natural extension of our scalable and collaborative approach to online leadership development" said Christopher Proulx, President and CEO of eCornell.

Scott Blanchard, Executive Director of Blended Solutions and Coaching for The Ken Blanchard Companies, added that "study after study indicates that coaching, when used as part of comprehensive learning solution, increases the long-term sustainability of the program. We are excited about integrating coaching with a program such as eCornell's."
