Peter L. Jackson, Ph.D.

Professor Peter Jackson has been a member of the faculty of the School of Operations Research and Information Engineering at Cornell University since 1980.
He is currently the director of the Systems Engineering Program within Cornell’s College of Engineering. He received a B.A. in Economics with Mathematics in 1975 from the University of Western Ontario, a M.Sc. in Statistics in 1978 and a Ph.D. in Operations Research in 1980, both from Stanford University.
He has published in numerous publications, including Management Science, Operations Research, and the Journal of Manufacturing and Operations Management. Professor Jackson has consulted with companies that include Nissan North America, General Motors and Quaker Oats.
Professor Jackson is also active in curriculum development for systems engineering and manufacturing-system design, and he has received awards for curriculum innovation and numerous student-voted awards for teaching excellence at Cornell.
