Sheryl E. Kimes, Ph.D.

School of Hotel Administration

Dr. Sheryl E. Kimes is a Professor of Operations Management in the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University. From 2005-2006, she served as interim dean of the Hotel School and from 2001- 2005, she served as the school's director of graduate studies. She has published articles in leading journals such as InterfacesJournal of Operations ManagementJournal of Service ResearchJournal of Operational Research, and the Cornell Hotel and Restaurant Administration Quarterly. She is the author/co-author of over twenty national and international conference papers and has been an invited speaker at international conferences. She was awarded the La Quinta Research Fellowship, and has received fifteen university research grants. Furthermore, Dr. Kimes has been listed in Who's Who and has been named as the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration Graduate Teacher of the Year three times.

Dr. Kimes' research interests include revenue management and forecasting in the hotel, restaurant and golf industries. She is currently at work on numerous journal manuscripts in these areas.

Prior to entering academia, Dr. Kimes worked as an energy coordinator and consultant and conducted seminars around the US. Today, Dr. Kimes frequently serves as a revenue management consultant and conducts seminars around the world.

Dr. Kimes holds memberships with the International Federation of Operations Research and Management Science, Decision Sciences and the Beta Gamma Sigma Honorary Scholastic Society, as well as other associations.
