eCornell is pleased to announce that 5 certificate programs are approved for the training of veterans and other eligible persons in accordance with the provisions of Section 3675, Title 38, U.S. code.
The VA has approved the following eCornell certificate programs:
| Program | Clock Hour Length | Award |
| Business Leadership Skills | 76 | Certificate |
| Human Resources Studies | 81 | Certificate |
| Master Certificate in the Essentials of Hospitality Management | 90 | Certificate |
| Master Certificate in Foodservice Management | 95 | Certificate |
| Supervisory Skills | 62 | Certificate |
In addition, 3 of the VA approved certificates have also been recommended by ACE for college credit when applied toward a degree or certificate at a postsecondary institution. Please visit our ACE information page to learn more.
To begin the GI Bill application process, please follow the steps listed below.
Step One: Contact an eCornell Enrollment Counselor (enroll@ecornell.com or 1-866-326-7635) to discuss the certificate you are interested in. A counselor will provide you with course information, a sample schedule and answer any questions you have about online learning.
Step Two: Submit your 22-1990 to the VA. The best way to do this is to go online to http://www.va.gov/vaforms and complete your application online. Please note that it may take up to 12 weeks to receive notification back from the VA.
If you have previously submitted your 22-1990 and have used your benefits in the past at another school, then you will need to submit form 22-1995 to let the VA know that you are changing schools. This form also has to be submitted if you have been out of school over 6 months.
Step Three: Once you have received notification back from the VA confirming you do qualify for benefits, submit to eCornell your enrollment form along with a copy of your letter verifying your benefits. A start date of 4-6 weeks into the future is recommended. You should receive a declaration of eligibility and a letter explaining your GI Bill benefits from the VA within that time frame.
Step Four: Wait for payment. The funds from the VA will be directly sent to you and you will in turn need to send your payments to eCornell. VA students are paid benefits based on the number of approved credit hours they carry (not the cost of the program they have decided upon). Once you start receiving your monthly benefit check via direct deposit, you will then have to complete the VA's Web Automated Verification of Eligibility process each month to continue receiving your monthly payment. To complete this process, you can log-on to the VA WAVE website or call their toll-free number at 1-877-823-2378. It only takes a couple of minutes to go through the prompts and this is an important step since you will not receive your next payment unless you do this.
