Prior to joining Cornell University, Dr. Caroline Yancey worked as a clinical veterinarian for more than 10 years before transitioning her career toward research and academia. With her background in public health, Dr. Yancey also spent three years working as the epidemiology and clinical training lead for the Cooperative Biological Engagement Program in Azerbaijan, as part of the U.S. Department of Defense. Her current research interests include the surveillance of infectious diseases, the epidemiology of zoonotic and vector-borne diseases, and international capacity building.
Dr. Yancey holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the College of Veterinary Medicine at North Carolina State University and a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the Department of Epidemiology at Gillings School of Global Public Health, University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.
