Dr. Michelle Kew

Michelle Kew is an attending orthopedic sports medicine and shoulder surgeon at the Hospital for Special Surgery and an assistant professor at New York Presbyterian-Weill Cornell in New York City. Dr. Kew attended the University of Virginia for her undergraduate and medical training. She graduated with highest distinction with a degree in Biology and completed an orthopedic summer research fellowship, as well as several medical mission trips to Honduras. She completed medical school with honors and was awarded a teaching award for her mentorship and teaching of younger students.

She continued her education at the University of Virginia and completed her internship and residency, where she was selected both as the junior resident of the year and as chief resident of the year during her residency. She continued her training with a sports medicine and shoulder fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery. She traveled to the University of California-San Francisco, Mayo Clinic-Arizona, and Inova Fairfax for further specialized training with leaders in orthopedic sports medicine. She remains very involved in clinical research and has presented her work at national and international meetings.
