Zalaznick Reading Series III
At Home With Writer and Editor Wah-Ming Chang
Thursday, October 29, 2020, 7pm EDT
Event Overview
Conversations with other writers have been foundational to Wah-Ming Chang’s work, from her graduate student years through a career in the publishing industry that has taken her from a successful freelancer to the senior managing editor at Catapult. Chang will share some of the insider experiences and insights she’s gleaned from these conversations, as well as her approach to the creative process, in this special session hosted by the Cornell Creative Writing Program. The evening will feature a special conversation between Chang and her former professor, thesis advisor, and proofreading client, novelist Helena María Viramontes.
“This work we've committed ourselves to involves a constellation of action and inaction around writing, thinking, collaborating, and dreaming,” says Chang, who, in addition to her work at Catapult, is writing a work of fiction called “Dreamstamps.”
This is the third virtual event in the Fall 2020 Barbara & David Zalaznick Reading Series: At Home, which brings renowned writers to the Cornell community to share their work from the intimacy of their homes to ours.
